Contemporary Western Art

  • Each painting has a story.
  • Horses offer interesting abstract imagery,  have a great muscle and skeletal structure and represent song images of the west.
  • I live in Golden Colorado with a back yard that has a view of north and south Table Mesa, the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. This image is reflected in many of my paintings. Including the view along Highway 93 to Boulder with ranches, horses and wildlife. The colors of the sunrises and  sunsets are filed away in my memory to be pulled out in my painting imagery. This is the beauty that I live for.
  • It is more than just what I see, it is the impression of the place, the sun, the sky, the wind and  what do I see when I squint? I want to capture the sense of place, the drama that is much more than just what I see.
